Is each piece really one of a kind?

Yes! The piece in the photo is the piece you will receive. Please note, the color comes from a reflection of light and will vary depending on its surrounding light source. Once that piece is sold there will be no others made exactly like it. Designs are created in small batches, but are then hand-painted with their own unique details. You can be confident that there is no other piece like yours in the world just like there is no one else like you!

Lauren is continually creating new original works of art. You can receive early access to shop the new creations by joining the R&R Club.

We take requests for custom pieces or custom variations on a case-by-case basis. If you have specific requests we'd be happy to chat with you about what can be done. You can email us at lauren@radianceandromance.com.

Where does the color come from and what does anodizing mean?

Anodizing is a process of creating a thin film of titanium oxide on the surface causing light to be reflected partly off the oxide and partly passing through the oxide to reflect off the metal. It's called an interference color and it is this same interference of light that gives some beetles and butterflies their colors. Lauren applies the electricity with different brushes creating a hand-painted effect even though there is no paint or pigments involved. You can watch the magic happen on our Instagram @radianceandromance.

The color is not a patina, such as what happens to bronze and copper. The colors are stable and won’t fade or change over time. If you feel like your piece has gotten dull it probably just needs a gentle cleaning. Dirt and oil from our fingers can build up on the piece and block the reflection of light. See below on how to care for your piece.

How do I care for my jewelry?

A little love goes a long way! Handling your piece with care will keep it looking bright and beautiful for many years to come. When not wearing, it is best to keep it in a box or pouch to prevent scratches. The color can get scratched. Keep away from household chemicals or solvents and avoid contact with perfumes, hairsprays, and lotions. Remove jewelry before showering or swimming.

The color on your piece can get dull as you wear it due to dirt and oil built up on the surface. Not to worry! This is only a result of the reflection of light being blocked and is easily fixed with some warm soapy water and a soft cloth.* Depending on how often you wear your piece, we recommend cleaning every couple of weeks or so to keep it looking bright and good as new.

*If your piece contains wood, be careful not to submerge in water and wipe only the metal part with a damp cloth.

Do you offer repairs?
